Taken up into the Rapture ....

Not sure which group picture I like best ... This one with me as a...wait, what? A Corsair!? Hmm well I did always dream about sailing the high seas and it couldn't possibly be any different than what I do as a thief, right? Right!? Well, I suppose the first thing is first!

I headed on over to visit Qultada, you know, the Captain of the Seagull Phratrie in this god forsaken place called Arrapago Reef -- and he sent me on a mission to find some sort of wheel lock trigger thingie down in the Maze of Shakhrami. When I got back with it, he decided he had some errands to run and to deliver the lock to one of his associates. I was then informed I should meet them at the Shararat Teahouse to pick up my reward. Of course, you know me, I can't resist the shiny promises of others, so I ventured out to the teahouse and to my surprise a Trump Gun was waiting for me.

So all in all I guess this means I have a new job to do. Since the Seagull Captain's put so much faith into me already, how can I not go through with it? So, on my way to becoming a level 90 Corsair and sailing with the Seagull Phratri. Maybe one day I'll get my own boat.

Or maybe not.

Rantings From The Shadows

Yeah I figured I'd throw in a rant, since I don't usually make posts about them. What's happened to people lately? You spend all afternoon, alone, camping an NM and a guy comes along, only to claim the mob, and then...hold it...cause he wasn't ready to kill it.

Your doing your Emp. Weapon trials and notice there's a whole group of people there doing it too, so you ask if you can join, and get no response....yet they are there and they speak English. You also used the auto-translator, just in-case. The kick in the ass? One of them asked the night before to join you, and you told them that if you were actually staying and not going to bed at that moment that it would be cool. Oh, and you'd previously been in a linkshell with them for over 3 years. No one has any sense of loyalty anymore or true comradeship. I could understand, if this was for say like a 10mil item and they didn't want you in the party, afraid you may gank it from them. (Lets say for a moment that "Kick" doesn't exist because then this would be an entirely logical fear, right?) But no. This isn't for an item. Even if I wanted the stupid dancer knife, I already have one, ergo can not obtain a second (and again, they could kick me if that was a fear). Nope, just wanted points/credits for my dagger trial which, only needed a kill off a pot. So, then, why the behavior? Why the ignoring and then pretend sympathy? Sympathy! Because your friends didn't have the courtesy to invite someone to a party for a kill. Did you offer to stick around and help this person out after seeing your friends were complete jerks? No, of course not because that totally wouldn't have benefited you in anyway whatsoever. (Assuming I was an asshole and didn't repay favors, which I do. In fact sometimes go great lengths to repay.)

This is about on the same level as the time I was trying to get my "Joytoy" and had invited someone, off my friends list mind you, whom I thought was a pal to come help me. He invited me to join his party, so he was party leader. We killed the mob, the sword dropped (cause you know, it's a 100% drop rate) and he ... kicks me out of the party and claims the sword for himself. THEN claims he dropped it cause he didn't want the piece of crap to begin with.

I'd like to take a moment, to blankly stare at my monitor now.

Ok, good. Yes, he kicked me out of the party, over a 100% drop, then bragged about dropping the sword. What, exactly, was the purpose behind this? You know, I mean, besides being a cockatrice sucker. Maybe his girlfriend liked me better than him? Who knows. I just know that eventually, what goes around will come around and I've about had all I'm willing to take from people being complete douchebags for no other reason other than, they can be.

Back to killing skeletons.

Old Memories

This image shouldn't stir up old memories, but for me it does. In fact it was some of the best times I had with an old friend of mine, whom, for whatever reasons undisclosed to me, is no longer part of my life, in game, or out. I got pretty emo coming back down here, especially on Thief. I guess, because mainly that person is the reason I leveled thief to begin with, because they inspired me to. We had several black mage experience parties down here when we decided to duo black mage to 75. This is also where my first "mysterious goblin experience" occurred. This particular MGE happened while we were nuking the bat pets of the various goblins/moblins about the area. Next thing we know, several high level goblins, jumped... yes, jumped, from the platform above us, killed us, then jumped off the platform we were on down to the next one. It happened at least twice while we were there, and I reported it to a GM, and they informed me it was indeed a glitch in the matrix. Frankly I think they've watched too much Keanu Reeves.

But now, I am back on Thief and trying to continue on with my weapon trials. This time, I have to face off with Bugbear Strongman four times. I've already defeated him in combat twice and am waiting for him to come back from "AFK" to continue our duals. He's given me monk pants and sam pants, both of which are level fifty use. I think he's hinting at something. While he was away from his keyboard, I wandered around and stumbled upon another bugbear in the area.

This bugbear is a tailor, believe it or not. In fact, his preferred thread happens to be made out of gold. He's instructed some people into making Vivacity coats which give people a DEF: 33 MP +8 Evasion +2 and MP recovered while healing +2 and is suitable for white and black mages, scholars, puppet masters and summoners. He however, was all out of his thread this day and after he was defeated in combat, he ran out to go get more from the local Cloth Guild.

A Vacation?

Sunsets on the island are very pretty. This was taken on Purgonorgo Isle in Bibiki Bay. I had thought perhaps I'd take a small vacation, but then one of the moogles informed me that this very spot was where the Notorious Monster named Serra spawns. I got to thinking, that this mystical fishie just happened to be the same very fishie the Magian Moogle wanted me to slay for my dagger trial, so I set to work hunting him out.

Well he's been a good fishie so far, not too hard to find. He's spawned twice for me now and I am waiting for my third respawn at the moment. He has decided to give me a pair of boots for my dragoon. I didn't have the heart to tell him that they aren't really all that good for my 90 dragoon.

While I've been waiting for Serra to finish his break between spawns, I decided to go to the other beach and lo and behold, I ran into a giant Urganite by the name of Shankha. Rumor has it that he gives some adventurer's a shield that increases shield mastery, but I apparently wasn't on his favored list today since I snuck up behind him and attacked him in the tush.
