Uh ... what? When did this happen?

Yeah... ok... so smn burns are kinda hot. Before I knew it, my smn was from 37 to 63 and that's where she's at right at the moment. Our level cap was increased and I've had to take a lot of time off from stuff due to family things. So yeah! Summoner AF! FULL AF! And all my summons at the time. Now I'm missing two of the new ones. But one day. And hopefully I'll finish it off as soon as my other 75's are 80. o.o; Damned level cap increases.

Weirdness in Die~namis

So last night, we had an interesting Dynamis Jeuno run. Mortilox Wartpaws and his Vanguard friend lay dead in the background after we just wiped due to an Astral Flow. Normally seeing this would be natural after you killed a mob. But not like 15mins after killing them. It seems they were not content on home pointing, but instead lingered around for a raise. Luckily no one gave them one.

He's dead folks! Summoning his Avatar!

That isn't where the crazy ended though. A little while later we noticed a necromancer body that lingered around after we killed it too. Scary for us, it was getting up and summoning it's avatar, then dying again. Talk about Necromantic tendencies.

Note the barely noticeable name is grey'd out. He was dead when he summoned Leviathan.

He continued to summon the avatar over and over and over again - Leviathan would sit there for roughly 3 seconds and then vanish. We were able to flash, voke and aspir it however. Guess we got lucky with a stationary aspirable object.

There is a video somewhere I do believe, of this freak occurance. It was amusing to say the least, distracting as well and had the tendancy to sort of freak us out making us think there was another avatar up when it was just the dead one. I guess I can add this to my weird Goblin stories. First Ninja Goblins, now Zombie Goblins.
{All Right!}

A long wait rewarded

So for several years, nearly 4 if not 4 years - I've had a shrimp lure in my storage. After Critical did their Shen run I decided I wanted one. We never did a second run however. So four years pass and I still have this lantern hanging out, not being used. I'd gone on a few Shen "attempts" before but none of them ended well so I didn't risk my lantern.

Well finally! Monchilio invited me to join DarkHado. A smn linkshell. Despite the fact I'm not a summoner mind you! All good though! I do have blm and maybe this will motivate me to finish RDM and actually cap xp on BLM again.

And I owe it all to DarkHado too! We did it the black mage way of burstII and thunder IV and AeroIV and such till it was dead. It took like 5 mins to kill one Shen so we ended up doing 4 successful Shens. Though one thing that irritated me was the negativity about how you can't melee Shen. I've said it a thousand times, maybe it's not the fastest way, but you can straight tank and melee shen with skillchains and bursts. Critical did it a long time ago and I was there for that. 5 Shen in one day doing it the melee way. And no, we didn't have Dark Knights with Kraken Clubs either. :P

Wants

So there's a few things right now that are sort of top priority for me in the game. I'd love some help with them if anyone's interested with it.

Yep! I still want my Joytoy. Last time it was within my grasps, it was stolen away, which is dumb since it's a 100% drop rate. With PLD and RDM (soon) able to use it, as well as DRG(Secretly) I'd love to have this piece.

Yes yes. I'm still camping that silly buffalo. He's been stingy as stingy can be and too, I get bored after a few hours all by myself. With this one, it's more a matter of keeping me company and dedicated to getting them really. Not usually ever much competition for them.

I have my codex and enough hate - it's just a matter of praying it drops and getting someone else to pop it for me and people enough - competent enough - to help with kirrins. Elvaan sucks.

I also want a limbus/Sea Shell. Any suggestions?

Randomness

Some days, I swear, I should have been a male - If this was the first time it happened, sure, no biggie. But what!? Why oh why? I fear someone has played a terrible prank on me. I'm watching you! Apparently I had my ass in my bazaar that day. Huh.

Been doing a bunch of random stuff lately. Not too many real accomplishments, unless of course you count getting TH4. Yeah. I am officially a TH Whore. -- Started sky again and I suspect that I'll likely only be attending as THF now, which I don't really care too much. Got our first Kirin this weekend coming up and farming run on Wednesday of course. Should be exciting. Already managed to score M.Hands and M.Head for my PLD of doomy doom. Really only praying to get my w.legs since I have Heccatomb Harness already and I still can't wear any of the god armor.

Been xping BLM and RDM with Meanie and Sebion again. I hate RDM. I don't even think it's the hating of the job so much as the fact I've done this already. WHM and BLM to 75, and RDM's still, stuck around 68ish. It's dragging. I know I should push through it....I just still don't have the motivation.

Oh, did I mention, I got TH4?

Long Post - Lots of STUFF

Molester Coats. I can see why they are called that.  This seems to be a regular saturday morning occurance. I wake up too late for the boat but Jess is always there in White Gate ready to open up that coat of his and suck me and Mav into it so we can get our asses on over to Nashmau and on out to the Testing Grounds for Eye-in-jars.  However the reason I took this picture wasn't really because of the coat. Nope! I took it cause I realized I didn't actually have any really good screen shots of both Mav and Jess from the old days. SO! Might as well start right? Now I just need to catch Ravax doing something silly in Salvage and snap one of him to make the collection complete!

SO! I did my FIRST Red vs Blue the other day with Kallo and ah, some....other....person...whom I totally forgot their name. (SORRY!) Anyhow~ I've never done this Assault and I didn't really know what to expect. Red Vs. Blue you think, ok, Red Mages vs. Blue Mages right? Well that's sorta what it is. But what I want to know, is when the hell did Red Mages get polearms and greatswords!? WTF. I want to use my polearm on RDM! I feel so left out on this. And I would also like to point out that the MALE HUME is wearing his sword on the "WRONG" side, like we Female Elvaans wear all our weapons at. SO! Not just us anymore!

Needless to say I had fun watching them battle it out whilst Kallo and uh, other person, did...ah..well...I'm not sure exactly what they were doing to be honest. I was the stand there and speak to the NPC and get the box and rune after we're done, person. SO. Yeah. I did absolutely nothing in this Assault. Which, to be honest, was nice for a change, after all those freaking Golden Salvage runs where I was like one of the only ones doin the werks. Kallo helpped when he was there, but sometimes it was just me so yeah! My turn to be lazy! All Right!

And last but not least.... a screenie of a conversation I had in White Gate one day directly after zoning in. My ego skills increased by .5~! It is kinda weird, but flattering at the same time to get messages like this. And it's not generally a once in a while occurance, it's nearly once a week at least and not always because I've been mentioned on LRB either, but sometimes it's just due to the linkshells I've been a member in. So yep! Ego Strokage!

Trouble In Windurst

So I start out wandering around in Windurst and I fell off a bridge and landed into the water. Well that was sort of a surprise and all in itself but then getting out was even more a surprise! Here are some screenshots of my unorthodox tour of Windurst.

Getting up out of the water took a little effort, but here I am!  Ignore the dat mods >.> I was feeling sassy.

I found a hill to climb atop to take some screen shots of an overlook onto the green, watery city of Windy.

This is what it looked like on my map. Note the red dot! That's me! I was off  the mapped area. Yes yes, I used to label all my important quests, like "In a pickle" where you have to retrieve a smooth stone and hand it over to Chamama in hopes she'd accept it for her pickle vat lid (to weight it down, to keep it in place so her pickles would ferment) but you know, 9 times out of 10 that woman was never satisfied. FINALLY She gave me my reward after she accepted the last stone I handed her. 200 gil and a bone hairpin. o.O

And last but not least a pretty shot of the water and roadside from my off-road excursion.  Anyone else have any weird falling down moments? I want screen shots! Or it never happened!

AFK is bad for you

Sarcasm Heavy!

Yeah. We (read: they) had a circle jerk around Meanie and I just stood around and watched. O.o orrrr something. He was afk and we were doing the tower climb, heading towards that dreadful, dreadful pot fight in Sea.

So our first two attempts at the pot fight haven't gone so great. Stupid blm pot keeps sneaking back onto the platform and before we can react, he's full health again. I am starting to get the feeling we're about to run into a job problem again. Someone's not going to have the proper job. Hopefully that someone is me, since I am really the only replaceable one in the long run as I've finished CoP already. Paladin didn't work so well when we did it, but that was because our pld kept dying. I haven't had that issue this go around and our main issue is getting the blm pots down before ES sleepga wears off (which isn't very long).

On a seperate note, I've come to the conclusion I don't actually enjoy BLM anymore. It's fun to mana burn stuff, but I dislike doing dynamis as blm. I never know when to nuke or when to sleepga and it's just frustraiting to me. I give the career blms props for it though. I don't think I could do blm every week. Once in a while is all good but not each run. I'd go insane. Although, I'm still going to stick to my theory. I sign up as DRG, I will be asked to switch to every job but DRG. I sign up as WHM, I'll be asked to come DRG. Why!? Who knows. I think Qtipus just likes to torment me and he got Glacian signed up on the train too. (btw Glacian, me as blm pty leader? ARE YOU INSANE?!) Qtipus was pre-empting my dreams of him going into teabagging rehab most likely. Yes. Teabagging rehab. He was a sad drg too. We snickered and then had tea.

And last but not least! Revenge.

Seeing Red

Ok. So I said I'd never do CoP again. Like. For the long run. Never. Ever. I lied. (Apparently - but does lying to yourself count really?)  Anyhow, I decided that Meanie and Sebion needed CoP. We went onwards in something of a flurry towards Sea. Camping Chip Mobs for the pumps and doing various other missions/quests to save monies for CoP again. It was fun. Not over yet! Still have Promathia to kick ass on. This piccie was taken down in sea lion's den whilst waiting for the airship battles to commence! I didn't get the pleasure of actually helping on that fight because another ... red mage ... took my place.... but you know, that's how the rocks fall. But speaking of that RDM...

I took that after Nyzul one night where no one but Aeredon died. Then after obtaining Sea for Meanie and Seb and Halidar and Pyrros, it came to my attention that Pyrros doesn't actually have any balls! Yep! After getting sea, we came across a UFO and whilst we were fighting it, Pyrros ran away! Without the extra heals, refresh and enfeebs, needless to say we died. Cept Pyrros and Meanie. Meanie just cause he's that damned good. Pyrros cause he ran off to "get the rest of his cutscenes." Yeah. We believed that. Right. Though that's not where it ended. Karma looks after her children and Pyrros had just earned her ire. He spawned the Aerns at the next tower thinking he'd just get a CS instead. Nope! Surprise! Ass Rape! Teach you to leave your companions behind.

Foiled by a bison

Oh, give me a home where the buffalo roam
And the snoll and the varible hare play
Where seldom is heard a delighted wyrm
And the skies are cloudy all day

I've been trying to obtain my cure clogs from this preposterous little buffalo named Bonnacon out in Uleguerand Range but the bastard has been just a bit more stingy than helpful. He's supposed to drop the clogs as well as a scythe but I've not seen either drop and I'm 0/7 right now. It's a dull little camp. Kill buffalo. Wait. Kill buffalo. Wait. Sing a song. Kill buffalo. He's apparently a true random lottery spawn as all sources I've found have no true estimated window for him or spawn times.  Sometimes I've gone out and he's been up, other times I had to kill the place holders for 5 or more hours, sometimes only an hour. Who really knows. I do tend to get tons of Uleguerand Milk which is a nice little regen of 2 hp a tick for a total of 80, and some hides and buffalo meat which used to sell for a nice price, but the economy sucks a lot right now.

Did I mention how nasty these things are? Like, hygienically nasty. They have this awful breath that gives plague and eats all your TP up. This beauty has a stun effect on his normal hits, which were smacking me for 200+ damage each. And anyone who says that his accuracy is worse than that of the normal buffalo in the area ~ needs to be pulled with a hundred arrows to the face because he hits a lot more regularly and it could be quite dangerous if he stuns. Shadows are necessary if soloing.

There's also a wolf that spawns at night up here named Cwn Annwn (strange name) and he'll drop a snow lily which can be used in a few quests, including the one with the Lycopodium guy.

If you trade Tarnotik a Snow Lily, he will warp you to Mine Shaft #2716. If you are far enough on Return to the Depths, you can use Ahriman Tears instead. You must give up your Shaft 2716 Operating Lever key item if you have one in your possession.
~ FFXI Wiki

So! YEAH! Nice little camp, though very very dull if alone. Bring friends for moral support and campfire sing-a-longs!

Motivation

My red mage is at level 62 and has been for nearly a year now. I find I've hit some sort of motivation block for this job and I'm not exactly sure why to be honest. I leveled WHM to 75 fairly quickly and BLM to 75 sorta quickly (stupid soloing) but when it comes to RDM I find myself unmotivated to actually hang out on that job and seek for a party. Maybe it's because I'm afraid the parties will be stupid level synch groups only. Who knows. At any rate, I'd love to finish it to 75 just to have it finished. (Can merit it later on) Someone willing to volunteer to push me onwards to that goal?

I want to move onto another melee job after RDM is finished, though I've not decided which yet. Sort of stuck between Warrior or Samurai -- or as I've heard lately, Sam-on-rye. Both sound equally appealing for differant reasons. Any suggestions?

2009 Statistics

Granted all this likely went up last night, including the deaths after Dynamis Tav. o.o; Remind me to shoot myself later for accidently subbing ninja. On White Mage. -.-; My bad.

The Dragonfly

(Not my artwork)

Pankration and Frice and a mugging. Oh My.

Aka: About damned time!

So I have been rather busy but not really with anything all too exciting. However! Through the loverly linkshell friends from Limit Break Radio, I've met a white mage / warrior / black mage / too many damned jobs --- who's gotten me addicted to Pankration. We've gone out several times now to collect our pictures for our pets and then pit them against each other's pets as well as those other people whom participate in the tourneys and matches in Aht Urghan's Colosseum.

Of course, you could take your shiney shiney soultrapper and soul plates and instead of givin new shinies to your pets or getting pets, you could turn these pictures into Zeni for the new ZNMs. Which Frice and I have been doing on occasion. (Not nearly enough of course, cause we're lazy that way) And whilst turning them in on one of these occasions, Sileighty showed up and taunted us.... so Frice and I decided, he didn't really need his gilz anymore. >.>

It seems as if my training as a thief has led me to act out while on other jobs as well. Perhaps it's true what they say, once a thief, always a thief. But whatever the case may be, I enjoyed picking on the taru and usually do, and even if I do pick on him, he's a great person. Helpful and ready to go exploring and one day! I shall beat his pankration mob! Oh yes. Muwhahaha. *coughs*

Amazing Week

First off, I want to thank everyone who made this possible. Everyone who put in hard work, long hours, tons of gil and god knows how much xp (prior to the patch) as well as time.

Most of you know, I've been working on CoP missions for almost two years now. My first three statics went strange, people left here and there, or didn't show up, or just didn't inform people they were skipping ahead. It happens. For a year I was stuck on a single mission and went back, three times, to Mammets or before Mammets, just in hopes to get a group who would see it through to the end. I'm glad to say that it's finally over! I'm completely broke, exhausted from a week of doing what some people said couldn't be done.... one week, we went from Riverne Site B01, level 54blm and rng to level 60, and all the way to the FINAL Cutscene in COP!! 6 days!!! Rajas ring Obtained for I think the majority of us.

We went through a lot of trials along the way. People said we couldn't do it. We couldn't burn Snoll with black mages, we couldn't get to Sea in a week, we had no hopes of finishing CoP. We couldn't do The Airship Fights without such and such jobs or tanks or whatever.... but you know what? We did. ;p

I'm very proud of Eleazar and Kallo. VERY proud of them. They didn't give up, they did everything that they had in their power to prevail and honestly, I think that's what we're really about. Not giving up.

I do applogise to those of you who felt that it was unfair of me to continue the missions with only half the group able to attend. But it was a prime week, Eleazar had the opportunity and so we went with it. As you know, I've already stated, I'm willing to help people with missions. I now have a 60blm (hopefully soon to be 75) and can help burn some of the battles. (Yeah burning was sooooo much fun. )

We were sitting around outside the Pot BCNM (Second to last CoP Battle) waiting on TheCaptian to join us. By far, this was one of the most difficult battles in CoP we experienced. I think we did this one around 6 times maybe? It was insanely hard. Object of the game was to aggro all 4 pots, 2blm and 2rdm. Sleepga 3 of them, and kill the two blm pots before you wiped. Then get up and kill the rdm pots. We had the same set up, for the majority of the fights, and kept loosing. PLd tank, RDM, WHM, WAR, THF, BLM. Kept loosing. Finally....we substituted the pld with a ninja, and knocked the RDM out all together and grabbed a second blm. We did that a few times too and lost. But after a while, we regrouped, brought in people we'd worked together with before, and OMG what a differance! We rocked those pots like there was no tomorrow. ^^

Exploring new professions

Guvian, Asmodeus, and myself each decided one day to explore new professions. Guvian as a warrior, Asmodeus as a Red Mage and myself as a White Mage. Asmodeus and myself have mastered both of these professions and did so fairly quickly, but Guvian, as he's known to do, has disapeared from his training once again. Since his disapearance I've taken up the ways of the Thief. Soon I believe I will be back up to his level of training and perhaps then he will show up once more to continue onto the 75th level of training as a great warrior for the Guardians.

-- As a note as I'm sure some are curious. Yes, Asmodeus and myself were an item at one point, but due to my wild heart, another captured it and I let Asmodeus go. It wouldn't have been fair to him, nor myself to continue our relationship as it was. He has since then, left our family for another, understandably.

Strange New Worlds

This was captured one night whilst Fayall and myself explored the newly discovered areas of Aht Urgan. We were admiring the view of the moon from the upper levels of the city's docks that night. Fayall was still adorning his bard gear at the time but has since decided to take up the mastery of the Puppetmaster and retire his singing voice -- at least for now anyways. Occasionally we can convince him to sing his melodies for us when we are in real need of the unique abilities of the bard, but I think he would prefer we needed his puppet and performances in that area more. One day soon I believe we will be counting on his new profession as much as we did his old.

Strangeness in Windurst

You know, some mornings it's not even worth it to get out of bed and stumble through the doors of the mog house. Today was one of those days. I was on my way to check on my chocobo, Dom II when I suddenly felt that there was something... off about one of the stablehands, Quesse. You can imagine my shock and surprise to see half her body. It was like some force had cleaved her lower half clear off! When I questioned her about it, she didn't seem to think anything was wrong.... After arguing with her for several moments that she was only half the woman she was yesterday, I finally gave up and just stared at her a moment before leaving.... I decided it was probably best that I went back to bed instead of pressing my luck on that strange day.

Peaches and Cream

Occasionally in my travels I've found myself at the end of other people's weaponry. This was the case one night whilst waiting for the giant golem in Tu'Lia known as Ullikummi or Ulli for short. It was a pretty boring night what with having to fight the strange hordes of tarutaru black mages even for just the chance to fight this monstrosity. Lokasenna, of Critical, decided to challenge me to a dual of sorts. He held his great katana next to my throat as he did so.

A few moments later it was brought to his attention that he had forgotten to ... get dressed this morning it seemed. He quickly withdrew his challenge and scampered off to flirt with a few of the more suitable women of the linkshell, hoping they'd find his lack of armor sexy. (I say sutiable because we all know that I'm a fan of armor and like to chew on it occasionally. What can I say? I like the shinies.)

History in the making

Tonight I recieved a message from Dominitri telling me to get my dragoon rump in gear and head on over to the far east region. There awaited me a group ready to go kick some impy rumps. I was told that tonight was history being made, the first party of adventurers that belonged to the Guardians of Balance family, to party at our levels of training. Benoleno being the youngest at 72 all the way to Ixxa, Guvian and Domintri at 75, with myself and Arkarina in between at 73, 74. All in all it went very well. No one died while at camp and Benoleno as well as Arkarina gained back the levels they had previously lost. This one party got me half way to my goal of 75 which I hope to accomplish soon. There's just something to say for having completed the 75 levels of training and begin working on merits. I'm really glad we did get together for this and hope we do so again soon.

A Goodbye

There's not too much one can say after getting the news that their loved one is going to have to leave, to never return home again. This is what's happened with Lynq. He's going to leave our world for another without hope of returning to us. I understand why he must go, but it doesn't mean that I like the idea much. I know he will be missed greatly, not only by myself, but by countless others he's befriended over the years. The day that I found out, was a sad one indeed. But we have to keep looking towards the sky, never looking back.

Promy Promy Promy

Once again I managed to capture the group headed off to yet another battle against the dreadful creatures consumed by the emptiness. Domintri seemed to have his warp2 button stuck that day. He kept sending me back to Lower Jeuno over and over again. Reminds me to get even with him for his dirty little trick. Maybe I can get my moogle to stuff one of those efts into his delivery box. ;)

Guvian - A Knight in shining armor

Guvian. What's to say about "Guvy" other than the fact he's one of the best Paladin's I know of. His armor is sexy, even the blue set. (I prefer the white, but he's more inclined to tease me about that then wear it.) This picture was taken the day that he returned to us from a long vacation over the holiday season. He was kind of shocked to see I'd grown so much in my dragoon training when he returned. I don't think he was expecting to see that I had mastered as much as I have. I'm still trying to get him to help with an experiment, but it seems that his time is being spent helping others so much he hasn't had the proper chance yet. So like a paladin! He's now training in the arts of the thief. All I can say about that, is it's really weird. To go from Noble protector to a thief? It's beyond me.

Rawr~

Even as a small child (due to some curious candy I consumed) the gang of tarutaru weren't fooled. Elvaan children are still taller than the taru people. o.o Kaiya, a summoner, was helping us out with Zilarts this day. He invited his friends Gromph and Pimptarutaru along with us to help get things done for Pookapooka.

The Guardians of Promyvion

This was taken a while back, when the Guardians of Balance got together to overcome the trials of Promyvion. Promyvion (known as Promy for short) is a strange displacement inside of the Mother Crystals located all around Vana'diel. Inside, an entity known as "The Emptiness" has spread it's corruption. Strange things have occured ever since I first traveled inside with this group of adventurers. Shown here with me is of course Pookapooka our white mage, Ravenessa our black mage, Blaiyke, another fellow Dragoon, trained in the ways of the warrior, and Stygian, San d'Oria's Commander and a skilled Warrior. As with any adventure, there were complications along our way, but as we are known to do and often, the Guardians triumphed and many of us have successfully completed our research of the 3 main mother crystals and have been able to explore a region known as the Tavnazian Archepelego because of it.

Epiphany

Seems like this journal is more than just a recollection of my travels, but as well as a recording of the friends I meet along the way. Amongst them, Epiphany. He's a saucy master dragoon, already reached the 75th level of his training. Not to mention he wears the armor I one day hope to posess. Epiphany is one of my older friends within the Dragoon community. He's helpped me a lot on my way through the trials of being a Dragoon, and as well he's helpped me along the way of other paths. Elvaan and from the nation known as San d'Oria, Epiphany really is a true friend. Always there no matter what. Even if his mouth does cause some trouble along the way. ;)

The Critical Way of Life

Many of my recent adventures take me to a place called Tu'lia, known as Sky for short. Up in sky are four nasty, grumpy gods. The one shown here is known as Genbu. He's a paladin turtle. He's the god of the North, or otherwise known as "The Black Tortoise of Winter". The people gathered around him after we've defeated him are some of my newer friends. We belong to a group known simply as Critical. It's our mission to defeat the gods of Tu'lia and to overcome the trials and tribulations of Sky life, together. Our methods might not be the best, but Critical gets the job done. Slowly but surely our methods will improve and we will become stronger, more organized and even more of a force to reckon with.
